Using the power of neighbor-to-neighbor organizing and the compelling cost savings of a group purchase, Solarize Northwest helps communities go solar together. Northwest SEED has accelerated the deployment of solar energy while significantly boosting the local solar economy and weaving community connections through the Solarize program.

Since 2011, our program has catalyzed over 900 new solar installations, generated $18 million dollars of direct investment in our local economy, and educated over 4,000 community members to become engaged solar ambassadors through their existing neighborhood networks. As Solarize campaigns reach specific benchmarks, they often work with installers to identify local nonprofit organizations to receive a donated system, sharing the benefits of renewable energy with all citizens.

As the program manager, Northwest SEED provides communities with:

  • Assistance with public education, selecting contractors, and managing neighborhood group purchase campaigns
  • “Solarize U”, a training program replicate the Solarize model
  • Resource materials, including our popular Solarize Guidebook

Northwest SEED also offers several levels of support to communities interested in running their own Solarize campaign, from training the trainers to managing the full campaign. Read more about our Solarize Support Packages here.
