BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Carrie Dolwick, Board Chair
Carrie's experience includes researching and promoting
enhanced economic development through emerging technologies,
renewable energy, and sustainable development. She
also brings her knowledge of public and business administration.
Carrie currently works as a policy associate with
the Northwest Energy Coalition. Her past experience
includes an internship with the US DOE Seattle Regional
Office, employment with NWSEED, researching state
policy directives for the American Wind Energy Association
(AWEA), and leading the acquisition of DOE grant money
for bio-diesel infrastructure development. Carrie
holds an MPA from the Evans School of Public Administration
at the University of Washington. She also holds a
graduate level certificate in Environmental Management.
Tim Crosby,
Vice Chair
Tim Crosby is focused on regional economic growth
and vitality through energy and food system development.
Alongside his work for Northwest SEED, Tim works on
interrelated market, logistics, outreach, and policy
issues supporting the growth of a vibrant local food
system, including making the connections between climate
change and the amount of energy used to grow and move
the food we eat. Previously, Tim served on the Agriculture
Technical Working Group for Washington State's Climate
Advisory Team, the steering committee for the Washington
Farm to School Connections Team, and as a member of
the Seattle Schools Nutrition Advisory Council. Tim
is a trustee for the Carolyn Foundation and spent
15 years as a professional photographer and graphic
designer. Tim holds an MBA in Sustainable Business
from Bainbridge Graduate Institute and lives in Edmonds,
Washington with his wife, two daughters, and various
pets.
Jay Arnold, Treasurer
Jay Arnold combines his interest in technology and
public policy with work in renewable energy, sustainable
development, and transportation policy. Through his
consulting firm, WINtegrated Solutions, Mr. Arnold
helps small businesses and organizations with interactive
web site development, online advertising, and campaigns.
Previously, Mr. Arnold worked at Microsoft as a project
manager in Microsoft's MSN division, launching the
MSN Premium product. He also led engineering teams
working on Internet Explorer and Windows 95. Mr. Arnold
holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University
of Colorado, Boulder and also serves on the board
of Futurewise (formerly 1000 Friends of Washington).
Don Andre, Secretary
Don is currently the Deputy Director of the Campion
Foundation, which is focused on preserving wilderness
in western North America, eliminating homelessness,
and non-profit capacity building. Don served as Executive
Director of Northwest SEED from mid-2004 through mid-2007.
Prior to that he worked for over 20 years with Spokane
Neighborhood Action Programs, where he designed, implemented,
and administered a wide range of low-income housing
and energy programs. While at SNAP, Don developed
skills in non-profit finances, human resources, and
operations while advocating for affordable housing
and clean energy.
Don Hopps, Board Member
Dr. Hopps is a founder and Consulting Director for
The Institute for Washington’s Future, a research
and education center dedicated to the renewal of progressive
values: community, equity, participation, and a sound
environment. Formerly, he was the Director of its
predecessor group, the Coalition for a Livable Washington,
a group of environmental, labor, religious, and community
organizations which came together in the early 1990s
to resolve the clashes between local environmentalists
and displaced timber workers.
Chris Thompson, Board Member
Chris is the Development Manager for the Initiative
for Global Development, a network of business leaders
working to reduce global poverty. He has six years
of combined experience in non-profit fundraising and
international development including three years as
a volunteer in the Peace Corps in Niger, West Africa.
He is an active member of the World Affairs Council's
Young Professionals International Network, a fan of
independent film and documentaries, and a supporter
of the green energy movement.
