Founded in 2001, Northwest SEED is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization with a mission to establish a clean, diverse,
and affordable Northwest energy system based on the
efficient use of renewable resources, with maximum local
control and community ownership of energy assets.

Jennifer Grove, Executive Director

As the Executive Director, Jennifer provides primary
oversight of operations, finances, personnel and programs
to ensure compliance with and implementation of the
organization’s mission, goals and objectives. Prior
to becoming Executive Director, Jennifer served as
Northwest SEED's Program Director and was responsible
for managing the implementation of Northwest SEED's
renewable energy projects. Jennifer has extensive
experience in project management, fundraising, and
team management in both the private and non-profit
sectors. Before joining Northwest SEED, Jennifer worked
for AT&T Wireless, People for Puget Sound, and Inner
City Outings/Sierra Club. She holds a B.A. in Business
Administration from the University of Washington in
Seattle, WA.
Jessica Raker, Project Manager

Jessica manages multiple clean energy projects for
Northwest SEED,including our Tribal Energy Program.
She is also responsible for providing technical expertise
on other Northwest SEED renewable energy and energy
efficiency efforts, such as collecting and analyzing
data from Our Wind Co-op’s installed turbines, as
well as the evaluation of potential wind turbine sites.
Since joining Northwest SEED she has completed certificate
programs in GIS technology and Energy Management.
She holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University and a MSME
from the University of Washington.
Linda Irvine, Project Manager

As one of Northwest SEED’s Project Managers, Linda
works to advance the development of community energy
strategies and projects. Current efforts include management
of Northwest SEED's Community Solar Program. Linda
began her energy career with an internship at Renewable
Northwest Project, creating the first survey of utility
green power offerings for the Pacific Northwest. She
subsequently worked as a Program Manager for Portland
Energy Conservation, Inc. helping to create and deploy
on-the-ground efficiency programs for the grocery
sector, and as the Community Resource Conservation
Manager for the city of Langley, Washington. Linda
has also been leading an effort to implement a community
solar project in her local community. Linda holds
a B.A. in Russian and East European Studies from Yale
University and a teaching certificate from U.C. Berkeley’s
Bay Area Writing Project.
Leslie Neel, Finance and
Operations Manager

Leslie Neel is responsible for all accounting and
administrative functions at Northwest SEED. Before
joining the organization, Leslie served as CFO for
Habitat for Humanity of Seattle/SKC and the Arboretum
Foundation. She received her Bachelor's Degree in
Accounting from Western Washington University and
holds a CPA license in the State of Washington.
Ryan Romaneski, Business
and Community Partnerships Manager

Ryan Romaneski is responsible for managing Northwest
SEED’s business development activities and community
partnerships. He is also responsible for coordinating
the organization’s ongoing communications, outreach,
and marketing efforts. Prior to joining Northwest
SEED in 2010, Ryan worked extensively in the fields
of education, community development, and project management
and brings nearly two decades of professional experience
in for-profit, non-profit, and academic settings.
He holds a B.A. from Whitman College and is a candidate
for a Master’s in Education from Harvard University.
Alex Sawyer, Solarize
Seattle Project Coordinator

Alex is currently responsible for coordinating Northwest
SEED's Solarize Seattle efforts. Through this new
program, she is working collaboratively with Seattle
neighborhoods to realize the economic and community
benefits of solar energy. Alex is a student at the
University of Washington completing her degree in
Environmental Studies and International Studies.
