About Northwest SEED

Our current centralized fossil fuel based energy system increasingly endangers humans and the ecological, social, and economic systems upon which we depend. The health of our communities depends on a rapid transition to sustainable energy generation and use. We can start here and now, in our own community, to build a Northwest region powered by clean energy.

Mission

Founded in 2001, Northwest SEED creates communities powered by locally controlled clean energy.

Strategies

Through on-the-ground projects and progressive policies, we seek to:

• Decrease the cost of renewable energy technologies
• Increase the % of clean, distributed generation in our regional energy portfolio
• Increase access to clean energy for middle and low-income households
• Grow the local economy and increase community resiliency through locally sourced energy projects
