RURAL RENEWABLES

Rural Energy Development for Washington
Northwest Sustainable Energy for Economic Development and the Washington Department of Commerce are working together to assist rural communities in Washington with renewable energy development. The goals of the project are to:

  • educate WA residents about their options for developing renewable energy resources
  • evaluate the economic and technical feasibility of renewable energy to offset business and farming operations
  • provide hands-on technical assistance with project development

Energize Oregon
Energize Oregon aims to stimulate the development and adoption of on-farm energy projects by agricultural producers in the Willamette Valley and Central Oregon Coast. In partnership with USDA NRCS, Energy Trust of Oregon, and the Oregon Department of Energy, Northwest SEED is speeding the transition from project concept to implementation by:

  • forming strategic partnerships
  • developing tools to overcome project development hurdles
  • installing systems through a group pilot
  • publishing results so that others can replicate project successes

Northwest SEED empowers community scale clean energy through expert guidance that combines technical support, community education and practical implementation to help communities achieve their sustainability and economic development goals.
