Harvesting the Sun: Solar Solutions for your Community

October 31, 2008 8:00am - 4:30pm
Central Washington University - Student Union Recreation Center Theater (SURC or SUB)
400 E. University Way
Ellensburg, WA

Many of us are familiar with residential solar energy systems and utility green power programs, but as community members look for a collective approach to solar energy, what can be done? Participants in October’s community solar seminar examined community approaches for increasing community accessibility to solar technologies, and the benefits of solar energy use. Participants learned useful tools to help their community overcome many of the barriers that have prevented them from investing in solar energy on their own homes and businesses from solar experts and leaders in community solar projects. Presenters provided examples of financing models and approaches to meeting unique community needs. Attendees included community organizers, government officials, utilities, and solar energy advocates.
